Antoine Laurent Lavoisier was born in Paris, France in 1743. He could not read english.He went to College des Quatre Nations. He was expected to follow his fathers footsteps in law. He studied Geology under Jean Etienne Guettard. In 1765 he wrote and published a paper on how to improve the street lighting in Paris.In 1771, he married the daughter of a farmer General, Jaques Paulze.
