Weather Balloons - shannon
On page 387, it tells about how weather balloons work. Weather balloons provide data used to make the country's weather forecasts. It first talks about the system. The balloons are released at the same time in all countries-at 6:00 and 18:00 hours (GMT). After they get the data from all over the world it goes to a central computer in Maryland. From Maryland, the data is sent to the regional weather service stations and then release to all the newspapers, radios and television. The weather balloons are filled with helium or hydrogen. Weather balloons are very complex.

1. Weather balloons did not become obsolete because they don't record direct temperatures of the earth. The information wouldnt be correct without them.
2. The meteorologist has to understand the gas laws to know the density and also keep the weather balloon working.
